Happy Birthday, Daddy...and more...

Today my dad turns 55. He is the best dad in the whole world. I am more blessed than I could ever say. He was celebrated today. I love you daddy very much. Happy Birthday.
Had gathering tonight instead of last night. It was great. We had some new folks over, it was great getting to know them. Hoping to form more indepth relationship with them. Gathering was good tonight. I missed Dani and Erica though. They are having too much fun traveling around Cali...
Had a hard day with Macee. She was in rare form. Hateful and such. Ahhh. It was difficult. Chris pretty much handled it with her all day. He did a great job, trying to help her understand the difficulties etc. She pretty much decided today that she did not want to listen to either of us. She is not usually like that, and tends to mind and be polite etc. without much prompting etc. NOT TODAY...however as the evening rolled around it got better. She is such my sunshine, today there where just a few clouds though.
Better go.

It's a dance - releasing responsibility onto a child and maintaining authority at the same time. "Rebellious" children are often seeking new boundaries, and are working to take more control of their lives is whatever way we will let them. When she is being pleasant, consider new ways to empower her.
1. Is she choosing most of her own clothing (what to wear, not buy), from drawers that are limited to all good choices, i.e. play clothes?
2. The color, style, etc of hair accessories?
3. "Helping you" i.e. "Should mommy fix peas or beans with dinner, Maccee; what would you like?"
4. Doing more work around the house: Your job is to help mommy...sort socks, fold towels, sort silverware, etc.

Hope this helps. She is your sunshine, but she is not a "Sun god" in charge of the world!!! :)

Glad you had a good "dad" birthday. I have had days like Macee. She has a good mom and dad. God bless you all!

Hi Sara....found your blog from a comment on my friend Sara's blog. I like your comment about her being your sunshine but with a few clouds today. I know exactly what you mean!
